Day 1 in Yelloknife, North West Territories

Day 1:

Was a long one, starting at 2 am with my daughter waking us up which was perfect, because like any little child I was so EXCITED to be going away with Taylor on a trip of our life time. After running in to some crazy rain on the way to Toronto we got to the airport with not to much time to spare but traveling with Papi will have that effect on you. Taylor was excited but nervous to go on his first ever airplane ride and first time being in an airport. We loaded up the A320 airbus and headed of to Calgary. Landing around 8:30 Taylor was so excited to go get a new hat! With a 2 hour layover we kicked our feet up and watched some golf of coursed watched some planes come and go.

Our ride to Yellowknife

After a great flight and some amazing photos taken out the window by Taylor of a huge thunderstorm we arrived in the YK at 2:20 right on time.

Greated at the airport by our great host Boo and some unreal weather sitting at 18 C and bright blue sky.

The YK is home to around 20,000 and the North West Territories is home to aprox 60,000 that are on record. With the ice still in the main body of Great Slave Lake which is 9th largest freshwater lake in the world, and man is it huge!

Well there is so much more to write about but I will let the images speak for me for now.

I have been photographing portraits for the past 15 years. I love capture the moments that pass people by. Here is a portfolio of my portrait, lifestyle, wedding, baby and maternity work.

Enjoy
